Job Role Description
Successful applicants will work closely with our established Digital Humanities and Societies Program, as well as other programs in the college, and will develop academic and research collaborations with potential national, regional, and international partners. They will also teach graduate courses at the MA level and contribute to curriculum development in their area(s) of specialty. They will supervise MA and Ph.D. students and will be committed to research-based teaching and learning. Teaching at HBKU requires the integration of experiential learning into classroom activities, encouraging students to develop their analytical skills to analyze and reflect on one of the fields stated above. Successful applicants are also expected to maintain an active research agenda by applying for internal and external research grants and participating in departmental and college-wide initiatives.
Overall, the successful applicants will be dynamic, experienced, and internationally recognized scholars with an innovative research agenda, as demonstrated through a strong, internationally recognized record of peer-reviewed publications and funding/grant acquisitions.

Research is enhanced within HBKU by a highly collaborative environment both within CHSS, as well as with national research institutes (QBRI, QCRI), Aspetar/Aspire Zone, partner universities within Qatar Foundation, and Sidra Medical Center.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited university as required for teaching in certain fields.
6-8 years of relevant full-time university teaching experience in research, higher education, or closely related areas in the industry (additional experience may be required to show equivalency), with evidence of increasing professional maturity and productivity.
Good evidence of proficiency in teaching, student supervision, and curriculum and program development.
Research and scholarly achievements deemed competent and adequate for the rank of Associate Professor in comparison with peers active in the same field at major research universities.
Good evidence of participation in the scholarly and academic affairs of a university or other appropriate organization, or in an appropriate professional society or organization.
Growing portfolio of scholarly endeavors (funded research grants, publications, IP/patents, etc.) in comparison with peers active in the same field at a major research university.
Good evidence of an increasing regional and international reputation in the scholarly discipline.
Ability to work with and ability to include diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
Participation in developing networks and collaboration within HBKU, and with program partners and branch campuses in both teaching and research activities.
