As Associate Vice President Legal, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Bank's legal operations meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will:
- Lead all legal tasks for the Bank, delivering timely, precise, and customer-focused solutions.
- Review and recommend updates to the Bank's legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure all legal materials comply with internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and statutory documentation to support management and regulatory needs.
- Build and maintain effective relationships across business units to help meet organizational goals.
- Mentor, guide, and manage junior legal team members and interns to strengthen the team's capabilities.
- Work independently, handling complex legal matters as the senior-most lawyer under the General Counsel.
- Oversee the consistency and quality of legal advice provided across the department.
- Contribute to improvements in legal processes, customer service, and overall team effectiveness.
- Support business continuity efforts, ensuring the legal department's preparedness for incidents or disruptions.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in law.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in the legal profession, ideally with exposure to banking or financial services.
- Strong oral and written communication able to present complex legal matters clearly and confidently.
- Sharp analytical skills, using data and insights to identify issues and offer sound legal solutions.
- Thorough understanding of legal policies, regulatory requirements, and statutory obligations in the UAE.
- Detailed specialist knowledge with the ability to assess risks, interpret laws, and provide expert advice.
