Associate Vice President, Scientific and Clinical Services, APAC

This role provides overall strategic leadership, governance, and execution oversight for Clinical Affairs and Medical Affairs activities across the APAC region. This role defines and implements the scientific positioning and clinical strategy for Merz Aesthetics portfolio across the full product lifecycle - from ideation, development, and registration through commercialization and lifecycle management.

The role is accountable for the quality, performance, compliance, and delivery of all regional clinical operations, medical initiatives, and regulatory-aligned scientific activities. Leads regional clinical data generation (including Phase IV studies and Investigator‑Initiated Trials), supports in‑licensing and market access decisions, and ensures scientific integrity, regulatory compliance, and capability building across APAC. This position serves as the key scientific authority and representative for all clinical‑related initiatives within the region.

Responsibilities

1. Clinical & Scientific Strategy Leadership:

. Define and drive the regional clinical and scientific strategy aligned with global Medical Affairs, Global R&D, and APAC business objectives.

2. Clinical Operations & Data Generation:

. Oversee all Clinical Operations and Services across the product lifecycle, including Phase I-IV studies, Non‑Interventional Studies (NIS), Investigator‑Initiated Trials (IITs), and post‑market clinical activities.

. Ensure study design, execution, and data generation align with global strategies, regulatory expectations, and regional commercial needs.

3. Medical & Scientific Governance:

. Ensure scientific accuracy, quality, and compliance of all clinical, medical, and scientific materials, including product promotion, websites, medical‑marketing documents, and external scientific communications.

4. Regulatory & Market Access Support:

. Provide strategic scientific and clinical leadership to support regulatory submissions, product lifecycle management, and indication expansion.

. Partner with Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment between regional regulatory activities, global regulatory strategies, and APAC commercial priorities.

5. Internal & External Stakeholder Leadership:

. Serve as the senior clinical and scientific expert across APAC, supporting Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Market Access, and Commercial teams.

. Represent Merz Aesthetics APAC with external stakeholders including regulators, key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and third‑party partners.

6. In‑Licensing & Portfolio Development:

• Lead the medical and clinical evaluation of new products, technologies, and market opportunities to support in‑licensing and portfolio expansion.
• Provide scientific due diligence input for business development activities, including partnerships and acquisitions.
  

7. People & Organization Leadership:

• Lead, develop, and manage regional Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory leadership teams.
• Ensure capability building, talent development, and succession planning across the regional scientific and clinical organization.
  

8. Budget &Resource Accountability:

• Hold overall responsibility for regional clinical, medical, and related regulatory budgets.
• Ensure efficient allocation of resources and delivery of high‑quality outcomes aligned with strategic priorities.
  

9. Representation& Decision Authority:

Act as the official regional representative for all clinically related initiatives in APAC.

Hold decision authority for sourcing, functional delivery, training standards, and performance measurement within the region.
