Job Description: AutoCAD / MicroStation Draftsman
Summary:
A skilled AutoCAD Operator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in 2D drafting using AutoCAD and MicroStation. The role involves creating and modifying accurate technical drawings and layouts across civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and telecom disciplines. Candidates should be able to prepare as-built and redline drawings and ensure compliance with relevant project standards and specifications, including preferred familiarity with Aramco Standard Drawings on MicroStation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting & Design
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and layouts for civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and telecom projects.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design data to develop precise drawings.
- Prepare redline and as-built drawings in accordance with required standards.
2. Software Proficiency
- Use AutoCAD and MicroStation efficiently to carry out drafting tasks.
- Maintain, update, and manage drawing files based on project requirements.
3. Quality & Standards
- Ensure all drawings meet applicable standards, client specifications, and relevant codes.
- Conduct quality checks and incorporate revisions based on feedback from engineers and project managers.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate technical requirements.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to confirm design details.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized and accurate records of drawings, markups, and revisions.
- Provide regular status updates on drafting progress to project leads or supervisors.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in 2D drafting using the latest versions of AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Strong knowledge in civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and telecom design principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, telecom, civil, architectural, or MEP projects.
- Familiarity with international drafting standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI).
- Experience with the latest version of Bentley MicroStation and SACS Drawing Standards.
