About The Role
We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Automation Test Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in test automation using Playwright and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will contribute to building and maintaining automated test suites across web and API applications while leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve testing efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Contribute to the enhancement of automation frameworks, reusable utilities, test data management, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop REST API test cases using Playwright request context and validate authentication workflows, response structures, and error scenarios.
- Utilise AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate test creation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define automation coverage.
- Support investigation and resolution of test failures and flaky test scenarios.
- Participate in CI/CD integration activities and maintain automated execution pipelines.
- Maintain test documentation, execution reports, and defect tracking information.
- Follow automation best practices, coding standards, and review AI-generated code before implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
- Experience with API testing and REST services.
- Understanding of Git, pull requests, version control, and code review practices.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
- Good understanding of test automation design patterns such as Page Object Model.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants.
- Knowledge of OAuth, JWT authentication, and JSON schema validation.
- Experience with Jira, Xray, or other test management tools.
- Familiarity with accessibility and visual testing concepts.
- Basic knowledge of performance testing tools.
