## Job Purpose/Objective
## Key Accountabilities
- Promote and adhere to IMI Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Policies.
- Ensure that all mechanical activities onboard are executed meticulously and effectively.
- Receive and follow instructions from the Mechanical Foreman or Supervisor regarding work priorities.
- Ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meets required quality standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective and consistent communication with the Mechanical Foreman or Supervisor as necessary.
- Perform additional relevant tasks as requested by the Mechanical Foreman or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Mechanical or marine-related qualifications or relevant experience.
- Proven experience working in a heavy machinery or mechanical workshop and onboard in a reputable major shipyard at an equivalent level.
**Competency (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)**
- In-depth understanding of mechanical jobs and best practices related to ships and rigs.
- Familiarity with various winches, deck machinery, cranes, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical and rotating components.
- Knowledge of overhauling methods and processes.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Sound knowledge of tools, equipment, consumables, and spare parts.
- Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
**Experience**
- At least 2 years of experience in reputable large shipyards, with proven hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of deck machinery, heat exchangers, cranes, basic hydraulic systems, and general mechanical work.
**Languages**
- Basic communication skills (oral) in English.
