Audio Visual (AV) Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the configuration, programming, testing, calibration, and successful handover of audio-visual solutions in various environments, ensuring that all systems meet project specifications and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission AV systems (audio, video, lighting, and control), ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across all components.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and fault resolution to maintain functional, high-quality AV installations.
- Calibrate audio and video devices (speakers, microphones, displays, projectors, and cameras) for best sound and visual quality.
- Collaborate with designers, programmers, and project managers for smooth project delivery and system optimization.
- Document the commissioning process, including system configuration, test results, and any modifications.
- Provide training to clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
- Integrate AV control systems and fine-tune user interfaces (touch panels, control software).
- Ensure systems adhere to current industry standards (HDMI, HDBaseT, Dante, AES67, etc.).
- Perform onsite testing of Large format displays, LED walls, projection systems, and video walls
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of AV devices, connectivity protocols, networking, and control systems programming.
- Technical expertise with amplifiers, DSP processors, displays, projectors, signal routing, and AV software.
- Proficiency in AV system calibration tools and measurement equipment.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams and clients.
- Problem solving, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, often on-site at project locations.
- Familiarity with products and platforms such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Teams, and Zoom is an advantage.
- Degree in electrical /electronic engineering, AV technology, computer science, with 5 8 years of relevant experience preferably with system integrators.
- Industry certifications, such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), are desirable.
