Harrow International School Dubai is seeking to appoint a skilled and proactive AV IT Assistant to join its founding school.

Job Purpose:

The AV IT Assistant will provide technical support and assistance in managing audio-visual equipment, lighting systems, and IT infrastructure in the school's auditorium. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of audio-visual technology during events and presentations, as well as assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting of IT and AV equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Audio-Visual Support:

  • Set-up, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment, including projectors, microphones, sound systems, and lighting.
  • Assist presenters, performers, and event organizers in using AV equipment effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV equipment during events.

IT Infrastructure:

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining IT equipment in the auditorium, such as computers, networking, and software.
  • Coordinate with the school's IT department to ensure seamless integration of IT systems.

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain AV and IT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report and address technical problems promptly and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

Training and Guidance:

  • Provide guidance and training to staff, students, or event organizers on using AV and IT equipment.
  • Ensure users are aware of best practices and safety measures.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an updated inventory of AV and IT equipment, accessories, and spare parts.
  • Assist in procurement and inventory control processes.

Event Support:

  • Collaborate with event organizers to plan and execute technical aspects of events in the auditorium.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between different audio-visual setups as required by different events.

General IT Assistance:

  • Offer assistance to the IT Support Assistant during peak work hours or in their absence.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree. Technical certifications or related coursework is a plus.

Experience: Prior experience with audio-visual equipment, IT systems, and technical troubleshooting.

Competencies:

  • Detailed understanding of managing school finances coupled with the ability to keep managers regularly appraised
  • Proficiency in operating AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and lighting.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Able to follow policy and implement structures from a CO perspective
