Job Description

Introduction: We are seeking a skilled and proactive AV Technician to join our team in the hospitality industry. This position plays a crucial role in providing seamless audio-visual support to enhance the guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AV systems, a good understanding of the hospitality environment, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain AV equipment across multiple hotel and event spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • AV System Setup & Support:
  • Install, configure, and maintain audio-visual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, and screens in meeting rooms, event spaces, and guest rooms.
  • Set up and test AV systems for conferences, events, meetings, and entertainment activities.
  • Ensure that all AV equipment functions smoothly for guests and internal staff during scheduled events or presentations.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Provide on-site technical support during events, assisting with any AV-related issues in real-time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV equipment issues quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption during events.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of AV equipment and assist in troubleshooting and repairing any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Routine Maintenance & Upgrades:
  • Perform regular maintenance and checks on all AV equipment, ensuring optimal performance at all times.
  • Update and upgrade AV technology as needed, ensuring the property stays current with the latest audio-visual solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for new AV technology or upgrades to improve the overall guest experience.
  • Collaboration with Event & Operations Teams:
  • Work closely with event planners, conference coordinators, and the operations team to understand specific AV needs for upcoming events and ensure equipment is available and functioning as required.
  • Assist in the setup of lighting, sound, and video displays for large events and presentations.
  • Customer Service:
  • Interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner, assisting with any AV needs or requests related to their stay or events.
  • Ensure that the AV systems used by guests and clients are user-friendly and provide guidance when needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain logs of equipment usage, service records, and repairs performed.
  • Ensure all AV system installations, upgrades, and maintenance are documented thoroughly for reference and future planning.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an AV Technician, preferably within the hospitality or event industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment including sound systems, video projectors, screens, microphones, lighting, and video conferencing solutions.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual control systems and software (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).
  • Ability to diagnose and repair AV equipment issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure high-quality setups for all events and guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and proper handling of AV equipment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in AV technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with advanced AV systems and event coordination.
  • Knowledge of networking systems and integration of AV systems with IT infrastructure.
  • Previous experience working in hospitality, conference venues, or event spaces.
