Role Overview
The Aviation Solutions Development Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and optimization of aviation-related digital and operational systems across airside, terminal, and passenger journey domains. The role ensures aviation solutions are business-aligned, operationally efficient, secure, and future-ready, while acting as a bridge between operations, ICT, vendors, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Aviation Systems Leadership
- Lead development and lifecycle management of aviation systems including:
- Turnaround Management Systems (TMS)
- Airport Operational Database (AODB)
- Baggage Handling and Reconciliation Systems (BHS/BRS)
- Resource Management Systems (RMS)
- Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS)
- Self-Service Systems (CUSS, SBD, SBG)
- Airport Community Platforms
- Ensure systems support safety, compliance, operational efficiency, and passenger experience.
Solution Design and Architecture
- Translate operational requirements into technical solution designs.
- Review and validate system architectures, integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Ensure scalability, availability, cybersecurity, and compliance with aviation standards.
Project Delivery and Governance
- Lead end-to-end delivery of aviation technology projects including business case development, vendor selection, implementation, testing, and go-live.
- Establish governance, risk management, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary technical interface with operations, ICT, airlines, ground handlers, regulators, and vendors.
- Innovation and Digital Transformation
- Identify opportunities for automation, KPI improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Operational Readiness and Support
- Ensure operational readiness including UAT, training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Support post-implementation optimization and business continuity planning.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, Computer Science, or Aviation Management.
- Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
