We are seeking an experiencedAutopilot Control Engineerto design, develop, and optimize flight control algorithms for our advanced drone systems. You will work at the intersection of theory and practice, transforming control theory into reliable, high-performance flight software. Deep familiarity with thePX4 codebase,QGroundControl, and flight log analysisis essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implementflight control algorithms(PID, LQR, MPC) for various drone configurations
- Develop andoptimizestate estimation filters(EKF, complementary filters) using sensor fusion
- Extend and customize the PX4 autopilot stackfor specialized mission requirements
- Conductstability analysis and tuningof control loops for different flight regimes
- Performhardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing
- Analyzeflight logs to diagnose issuesand improve performance
Collaboration & Integration
- Work withR&D Electricalon sensorselectionand integration (IMU, GPS, barometer)
- Collaborate withR&D Mechanicalonaircraftdynamics and propulsion system modeling
- Partner withSystem Engineeringto define control system requirements and interfaces
- SupportTesting Teamwith validation procedures and failure mode analysis
- AssistProductionwith manufacturing test procedures and calibration
Technical Leadership
- Lead control system architecture decisions and trade-off analyses
- Mentor junior engineers in control theory and PX4 development practices
- Drive adoption of best practices in control algorithm design and implementation
- Contribute to technical roadmap planning for autonomous capabilities
