Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Avocet System Administrator to manage and support the Avocet Production Operations Software within our oil and gas operations. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of production data systems, supporting both field and office teams in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration & Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain Avocet software and its components.
  • Manage Avocet server infrastructure including Web Client, ClickOnce deployments, SQL Server Reporting Services, and analytics data cubes.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

Data Management & Integration

  • Ensure seamless data flow between Avocet and other systems (e.g., SCADA, OFM, Petrel, Well view, Foresight, PI-vision).
  • Support data exchange utilities and integrations with databases for future projects and integration with SAP or Oracle for costing optimization.

Data Integrity & Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain data validation rules and workflows to ensure accuracy of production data and the alignment with plans
  • Conduct regular audits of field and office data entries to identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
  • Collaborate with field teams to resolve data discrepancies and improve data entry practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data standards, processes, and quality control measures.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce data security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive operational data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and industry data governance policies.

User Support & Training

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Avocet users.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for field and office personnel.

System Enhancement & Upgrades

  • Conduct system integrity reviews to identify obsolete features and recommend improvements.
  • Plan and execute Avocet upgrades, including testing, deployment, and user training.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Petroleum Engineering .
  • Minimum +10 years of experience in system administration, in the oil and gas industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Avocet software and production data systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Windows Server, and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas production workflows and data types.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
