Job Role
We are seeking a highly skilled
Azure Cloud Engineer with strong
hands‑on experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud to support and operate our production cloud environment. The role is focused on
Azure infrastructure operations, networking, and backup/disaster recovery (DR) to ensure availability, security, and performance of mission‑critical workloads.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing Azure environments in a
live operational setting, supporting day‑to‑day cloud operations, troubleshooting issues, and implementing best practices aligned with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Infrastructure & Operations
- Provision, manage, and support Azure resources including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Azure App Services, SQL/Managed Databases, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) where applicable.
- Perform day‑to‑day operational support for Azure workloads, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor system health, performance, and utilization using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure and platform issues in a timely manner.
Azure Networking
- Design, configure, and support Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, NSGs, route tables, and private endpoints.
- Manage site‑to‑site and point‑to‑site VPNs, ExpressRoute (if applicable), and hybrid connectivity.
- Support Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateway, and Azure Firewall.
- Ensure secure network architecture following best practices.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery (ASR) solutions.
- Ensure backup policies, recovery plans, and DR failover/failback procedures are tested and documented.
- Support RPO/RTO requirements and ensure compliance with business continuity standards.
- Participate in DR drills and audits.
Security & Governance
- Implement and manage RBAC, Azure Policies, and tagging standards.
- Support identity services including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), MFA, and conditional access.
- Follow security best practices and support vulnerability remediation activities.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Use PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform to automate deployments and operational tasks.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with application teams, DevOps, security, and vendors.
- Provide Level‑2/Level‑3 Azure support.
- Participate in on‑call rotations, maintenance windows, and incident response as required.
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud (minimum 3–5 years).
- Deep expertise in:
- Azure Infrastructure (Compute, Storage, VMs)
- Azure Networking (VNets, VPN, Load Balancers, NSGs)
- Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery (Azure Backup, ASR)
- Experience supporting production Azure environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support mindset.
- Experience with PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Solid understanding of cloud security and governance.
Preferred / Nice To Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of AKS, containerized workloads, or PaaS services.
- Experience with hybrid environments.
- Exposure to FinOps / cost management.
- ITIL‑based operational experience.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (advantage)
