As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable server-side applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance server-side applications and APIs.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug back-end issues, ensuring smooth performance and functionality.
- Implement and manage database schemas, data structures, and queries (SQL/NoSQL).
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in back-end development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or .NET.
- Strong experience with RESTful API development and integration.
- Solid understanding of database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
