About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Baker/Bakery Commis to join our team. This role requires expertise in baking techniques, attention to detail, and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing treats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
- Follow recipes and ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Experiment with new recipes and flavours to enhance the menu.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of all baking ingredients.
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in food preparation.
- Decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts creatively using icing, fondant, and other toppings.
- Ensure all baked items are visually appealing and meet customer expectations.
- Monitor stock levels and request ingredient restocking as needed.
- Properly store baking ingredients and ensure proper kitchen organization.
- Clean and maintain baking equipment and tools.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure the timely preparation of baked goods.
- Take custom cake/pastry orders and consult with customers for special requests.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle feedback professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Bakery.
- Knowledge of operating the bakery equipment.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards.
- Creativity in decorating and presenting baked goods.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Culinary or baking certification is a plus.
