Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as the face of our coffee shop, blending expert coffee-making skills with exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring every customer receives high-quality beverages and efficient service.
Core Responsibilities
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty teas, adhering strictly to house recipes and standards.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, provide detailed menu recommendations, and answer questions regarding ingredients or brewing methods.
- Cashiering: Accurately process customer orders and payments (cash and card) using the POS system, ensuring correct change and receipts are issued.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace, including the coffee bar, seating area, and equipment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and disposables to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Upselling: Suggest drink or add-ons to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a fast-paced retail/service environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills in English to interact professionally with diverse customers and team members.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for handling transactions and balancing the cash drawer.
- Attributes: Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a calm demeanor during peak rush hours.
