JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Barista in Food Service is to prepare and serve high-quality beverage solutions to business clients while ensuring consistency, hygiene, and professional presentation. This role supports B2B customers such as offices, hotels, cafs, restaurants, and corporate locations by operating professional coffee machines, maintaining product quality, monitoring expiry, and delivering a consistent drink every time in line with brand and equipment standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Beverage Preparation Service
- Prepare and serve beverages using professional coffee machines (bean-to-cup, liquid coffee, capsule, and traditional espresso machines).
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation according to approved recipes and machine calibration.
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, milk-based beverages, hot chocolate, tea, cocktails and mocktails solutions as per customer requirements.
- Ensure correct dosage, brewing time, and drink suitability for each beverage type.
Machine Operation & Basic Care
- Operate modern coffee machines and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily, weekly, and routine cleaning of coffee machines and grinders as per standard operating procedures.
- Report any machine malfunction or technical issues to the supervisor or technical support team.
- Assist during machine setup, basic adjustments, and demonstrations at customer sites when required.
Customer Support & Training Assistance
- Provide professional service and product knowledge to B2B customers.
- Support customer training sessions on basic beverage preparation, machine usage, and daily care.
- Assist in coffee tasting (degustation) sessions and beverage menu support where required.
- Represent the company and brand professionally at client locations.
- Participate in networking events, exhibitions, trade shows, and relevant market activities to support brand presence, customer engagement, and market exposure
- Share market trends, customer insights, and best practices with the wider team to support continuous improvement, innovation, and commercial alignment
- Act as a lead generator, supporting sales initiatives with a minimum conversion ratio of minimum 20%, through effective customer engagement, demonstrations, tastings, and follow-up support
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
- Follow UAE food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Comply with company policies, operational procedures, and health & safety guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably in B2B food service, hospitality, or professional coffee environments.
- Experience working with professional coffee machines (automatic, capsule, liquid coffee, or traditional espresso machines) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of coffee beans, milk-based drinks, and beverage preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and expiry management.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites if required.
