A Bell Attendant in Waldorf Astoria provides consistently delivered exceptional customer service to Guests, particularly in relation to the transferring and storing of luggage and assisting with guest queries and general questions. He escorts arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner to and from their guest rooms and acquaints each guest with room and features


What will I be doing

A Bell Attendant in Waldorf Astoria provides consistently delivered exceptional customer service to Guests, particularly in relation to the transferring and storing of luggage and assisting with guest queries and general questions. He escorts arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner to and from their guest rooms and acquaints each guest with room and features. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Retrieve guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts. Grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room. Navigate trolley through public areas, guest room corridors and to elevators.

  • Escort guests and to their rooms, inspecting rooms visually, pointing out room features.

  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a clear speaking voice, providing accurate information regarding outlet hours, directions, hotel services etc.

  • Organize and store luggage as necessary in storage room.

  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome remaining calm and attentive especially during emergencies.

  • Cleanandpolishbuggies, luggage trolleysandotherequipmentusedinthedepartment.

  • Answer queries from guests, referring them to contact points at which they can obtain further information.

  • Ensure a speedy resolution to any problems that may arise on shift

  • Readandmatchluggagetags,writeclaimticketsanddetachportiontogivetoguest.

  • Escort the guest to the room and explain all hotel and room's facilities.

  • In case of having a valid UAE driver's license, you may be required to assist with guest transportation by driving the hotel's limousine with prior approval of the management. Your license will be registered with the limousine leasing company and RAK Transport Authority

What are we looking for

Bell Attendants serving Hilton Brand hotels are always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
  • Ability to read English language sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists
  • Abilitytograsp, liftand/orcarryorotherwisemovepackages,boxesandluggageupto50 Lbs. continuously throughout shift.

  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Previous experience as a Bell person
  • Previous experience working within a hotel
