Role Description

Own the end-to-end bid process and produce high quality written submissions. You will co-ordinate contributors across technical, delivery, commercial and leadership teams to gather evidence, shape win themes and deliver compliant persuasive responses on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the bid process end to end across multiple live opportunities, maintaining plans, milestones, owners and deadlines
  • Run bid kick-offs and planning sessions, capturing requirements, evaluation criteria, win themes and response structure
  • Co-ordinate inputs from SMEs across Solution Architecture, Engineering, Delivery, Security, Commercial, Legal and Partners, chasing actions and resolving blockers
  • Draft write edit and finalise written content including executive summaries method statements case studies CVs and compliance statements
  • Own compliance: maintain the requirements matrix, ensure all questions are answered, apply word counts and submission rules and run final QA checks
  • Manage review cycles (pink, red, gold or equivalent) and incorporate feedback quickly while protecting clarity and consistency
  • Maintain bid documentation and version control using SharePoint and Microsoft 365, ensuring approvals and sign-off are recorded
  • Prepare submission packs including required forms certificates schedules and supporting evidence
  • Support clarifications and interview stages by preparing Q&A packs speaker notes and rehearsal plans
  • Maintain an up to date bid library of reusable answers proof points case studies and CVs to improve speed and quality
  • Lead post-bid reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously improve templates, processes and win rates
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate drafting, summarisation, compliance checking and content reuse while ensuring accuracy and evidence

What success looks like (first 36 months)

  • Bid governance is consistent: clear plans, owners, review gates and reliable submission quality
  • SMEs contribute efficiently because workshops, prompts and deadlines are structured and well managed
  • Responses are clearer, more evidence led and better aligned to evaluation criteria
  • Reusable content reduces effort while improving consistency across bids

Must have

  • Proven experience writing and co-ordinating bids end to end in a consultancy or professional services environment
  • Excellent writing editing and structuring skills with a focus on evaluation criteria and scoring
  • Strong stakeholder management with confidence engaging technical contributors and senior leaders
  • Strong organisation and process discipline: action tracking compliance matrices document control and QA
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word PowerPoint Excel Teams SharePoint)
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to support bid delivery (drafting summarisation research content management) with appropriate judgement on quality and confidentiality

Nice to have

  • APMP certification (or working towards)
  • Broader UK public sector framework experience beyond DOS (e.g. Digital Outcomes variants, G-Cloud, Technology Services frameworks)
  • Experience shaping win themes and running structured review cycles (storyboarding colour reviews)
  • Light graphic or formatting capability for polished submissions (PowerPoint strong, InDesign optional)
  • Experience building and maintaining bid content libraries and standard responses
  • Experience writing bids for the Digital Outcomes and Specialists (DOS) framework
  • Good working understanding of CCS frameworks and public sector procurement processes
