Responsibilities

The MEP BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and delivering Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines across all project stages. The role ensures accurate model development, clash detection, coordination with architectural and structural teams, and compliance with project BIM standards. The MEP BIM Coordinator acts as a key link between design, construction, and project stakeholders to support efficient, coordinated, and constructible project delivery.Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating the digital processes associated with the design and construction stages of a project. This involves ensuring that all digital information is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information. This requires regular communication and collaboration with project managers, BIM authors, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is working with the same information.
  • Coordinating with project managers, BIM authors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are working with the same information. This involves developing and implementing BIM execution plans to manage the flow of information during the project.

  • Ensuring Drawings / models are incompliance to local authority requirements & standards.
  • Resubmission of drawings / models based on engineers comments.
  • Verifying IFC designs for the purpose of GFC Drawings & raising discrepancies.

EducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringBIM-related certification is an advantage (Autodesk, ISO 19650, etc.)

ExperienceMinimum 6-8 years of experience in MEP design and BIM coordinationProven experience in BIM coordination for medium to large-scale projectsStrong background in multidisciplinary coordination (Architectural, Structural, Interior, Landscape, MEP)

Technical SkillsBIM Software Proficiency: Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Revizto, Power BI, AutoCAD, DynamoStrong knowledge of clash detection, model coordination, and issue resolution workflowsExperience with BIM execution plans (BEP), LOD requirements, and ISO 19650 standardsFamiliarity with common data environments (CDE) such as BIM 360 / ACC

Knowledge & CompetenciesIn-depth understanding of MEP systems, installation requirements, and construction sequencingAbility to review and validate BIM models for accuracy, constructability, and complianceStrong coordination and communication skills with consultants, contractors, and internal teamsGood understanding of local authority requirements and international codes/standards
