Job Description

Job Purpose:

The BIM Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing Building Information Models (BIM) for swimming pool, water feature, and Crystal Lagoon projects. The role ensures accurate 3D modeling, multidisciplinary coordination, clash detection, and production of construction documentation to support project delivery from design through commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for swimming pools, water features, Crystal Lagoons, and associated MEP systems.
  • Model piping networks, filtration systems, pump rooms, water treatment equipment, drainage systems, and related mechanical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate BIM models with architectural, structural, civil, and MEP disciplines to ensure design integration and constructability.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, installation details, and construction layouts from BIM models.
  • Update and maintain BIM models in line with design revisions, site changes, and consultant comments.
  • Support MEP coordination meetings and provide technical BIM solutions to resolve design conflicts.
  • Generate quantity take-offs, schedules, and material reports from BIM models.
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), company BIM standards, and client requirements.
  • Incorporate supplier, manufacturer, and specialist contractor information into BIM models.
  • Support site teams during construction by providing coordinated drawings and technical BIM support.
  • Prepare and maintain as-built BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist during testing, commissioning, and project handover stages by ensuring model accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain model integrity, data consistency, and document control procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs in accordance with project schedules and milestones.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • BIM-related certifications are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of BIM experience within MEP, infrastructure, water feature, swimming pool, or construction projects.
  • Experience with Crystal Lagoon, aquatic facilities, water treatment systems, or large-scale water feature projects is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and construction documentation.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, piping networks, water treatment systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Experience performing clash detection and coordination reviews.
  • Ability to generate shop drawings, as-built drawings, schedules, and quantity take-offs from BIM models.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards, workflows, and project execution plans.
