About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil 3D Mechanical BIM Engineer to lead the modeling, coordination, and delivery of mechanical systems for large-scale civil and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on technical excellence, safety, and seamless BIM integration across all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and federate LOD 300500 mechanical BIM models
- Ensure clash-free integration with civil, architectural, and MEP disciplines
- Prepare and manage BIM Execution Plans, model progress reports, and data drops
- Extract shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, BOQs, and 4D sequences from models
- Lead COBie asset data population and validation for FM handover
- Mentor junior BIM modelers and enforce BIM QA/QC standards
- Support site teams with model-based construction sequencing and field BIM use
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (mandatory)
- BIM certification (Autodesk, BRE, or equivalent) is an advantage
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems
- Chilled water networks
- Pumping stations and pressurized pipe networks
- Utility corridors
- Advanced user of Civil 3D, Revit MEP
- BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Navisworks Manage (clash detection)
- Dynamo and Excel for data workflows
- Experience with 4D/5D BIM integration
- COBie data production
- ISO 19650 and QIC digital standards
- Excellent coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
Preferred Skills
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for civil/infrastructure projects
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on BIM authoring and coordination experience
- Proven experience delivering district cooling systems, water supply, sewer, and stormwater networks, mechanical plant rooms
- Strong hands-on use of Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks
