Job Description
Seeking a skilled Bit Welder with experience in TIG/MIG welding, hard facing, brazing, metal fabrication, and grinding to support bit manufacturing operations while meeting NOV Quality and HSE requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG/MIG welding, hard facing, brazing, and other metal welding processes.
- Read and follow technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Assemble components according to engineering drawings and established procedures.
- Set up and adjust equipment to ensure proper alignment of parts.
- Lift, position, and secure workpieces safely during welding operations.
- Ensure welding setups are approved by the senior operator or supervisor before production.
- Use standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Perform required manual grinding and hot-work activities.
- Carry out operator-level machine maintenance and daily workplace cleaning.
- Comply with all NOV Quality, HSE, and operational requirements.
- Support other operations, shifts, or weekend work when required
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Metal Fabrication, or Welding Processes.
- Vocational training with 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in production processes or light/heavy fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and schematics.
- Experience in manual grinding operations.
- Good understanding of manufacturing shop practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Good teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of Quality and HSE requirements.
