Job Summary:
The BMS Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of systems that control HVAC, lighting, access control, and other building utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on BMS equipment.
- Collaborate with other technicians and contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
- Document system changes, updates, and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on BMS operation.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to building automation.
- Respond to service calls and provide timely resolutions to system failures or malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in HVAC, electrical, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a BMS Technician or similar role.
- Familiarity with building management systems, controls, and instrumentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and building automation protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
