Board Member- Leadership Council

The world is entering an era of cascading risksclimate disruptions, economic shocks, technological uncertainty, and social instability are unfolding in complex and interconnected ways. Responding to these challenges requires more than short-term fixes; it requires foresight, coordination, and public trust at the global level.

The Global Risks Forum (GRF) is being established to meet this need.

GRF is a new multilateral institution headquartered in Geneva, designed to bring together trusted leaders from government, science, finance, and civil society to build stronger global responses to risk. It will serve as a permanent platform for anticipating future crises, strengthening public systems, and ensuring accountable leadership across borders.

To guide this mission, GRF is forming itsFounding Board of Governorsa select group of leaders who will oversee the Forum's development, governance, and long-term direction. The Board will be appointed in 2027, following a transparent selection process.

Pathway to the Board

To ensure legitimacy and continuity, GRF's founding board will be appointed exclusively from members of the 2026 Leaders Councila diverse group of respected individuals who will participate in the Forum's early design, strategy, and outreach efforts.

Members of the Leaders Council will:

• Shape the Forum's strategy, governance model, and regional programs
• Advise on partnerships with governments, multilateral agencies, and scientific bodies
• Participate in preparatory sessions, committee formations, and milestone planning
• Be eligible for nomination to the GRF Board in 2027

Joining the Leaders Council in 2026 is a required step to be considered for the Board. This process ensures that all board members are aligned with GRF's mission, have contributed to its foundation, and are committed to its long-term success.
