WSP is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Bridge Engineer – Design to join its growing infrastructure team in Jeddah. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex bridge and structural design projects, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and adherence to international and local standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of bridge and related structural elements (steel, concrete, composite structures).
- Prepare and review detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Undertake concept, preliminary, and detailed design of bridges, flyovers, interchanges, and infrastructure structures.
- Ensure designs comply with AASHTO, Eurocodes, Saudi standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including highways, geotechnical, drainage, and utilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and method statements.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and cost control activities.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical presentations.
- Contribute to value engineering and innovative design solutions.
- Ensure adherence to quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in bridge design and structural engineering.
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the Middle East or similar environments.
- Strong expertise in bridge design software such as MIDAS, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, RM Bridge, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with design codes and standards (AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes, BS).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is highly desirable.
