We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Budgeting & Estimation Senior Engineer / Team Leader to join our team. This role will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and monitoring project budgets and cost estimates across various development stages, ensuring financial accuracy, feasibility, and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Estimation
- Participate in project initiation and preparation of initial project budgets.
- Support value engineering workshops to monitor and optimize project budgets through cost comparison and alternative analysis.
- Assist in establishing client requirements and conducting feasibility studies.
- Prepare cost estimates for project packages.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure packages are clearly identified prior to tendering.
- Conduct cost analysis for new land and development opportunities.
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine estimated launch and execution costs.
- Verify budgets at each project stage to ensure alignment and avoid conflicts during the final budgeting process.
- Prepare project budget sheets and secure required approvals/signatures.
- Ensure budgets for new projects are developed accurately during pre-concept stages based on available project information and development checklists.
Historical Data & Cost Benchmarking
- Gather and maintain historical cost data and benchmark information for pricing new projects and items.
- Develop sensitivity analyses to support budgeting scenarios and decision-making.
Reporting & Documentation
- Periodically update departmental logs and budgeting/estimation reports.
- Ensure all records, documentation and files are properly maintained in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in budgeting, estimation, tendering, cost control, or quantity surveying.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation principles within engineering/construction/development projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
