Job Description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centers in order to support the continuity program.
- Analyze impact on and risk to essential business functions or information systems in order to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Manage the development of emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance
- Manage, monitor and review existing disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans for continuous improvement purposes
- Interpret government regulations to ensure the Business Continuity setup are compliant with government regulations
- Manage, monitor and review corporate intelligence data in order to identify trends, patterns, or warnings indicating threats to people safety, assets, information, or infrastructure
- Assess and develop products and services to mitigate risk or facilitate use of technology-based tools and methods
- Prepare reports summarizing operational results and accomplishments of specified objectives, goals, or plans to support management to make sound business decisions
- Assess and develop business continuity (BC) Minimum requirements for members & DV
- Manage, monitor and assess Members BC Minimum requirements compliance report
- Manage the business continuity BC awareness and testing of BC plans, disaster recovery, and crisis management
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and control the unit's projects to ensure project cycle completion and commitment to the company's guidelines and quality.
- Guide, and assist employees by direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage all the unit's staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
- Set performance objectives, provide the necessary support, evaluate team(s), and offer regular feedback on performance.
- Comply with communication and information sharing/handling policy to ensure confidentiality of the information and comply with all relevant risk and information security procedures to ensure operating within the acceptable risk levels.
- Manage the development and implementation of the unit's policies, procedures, and processes covering all areas of the unit's activities to ensure the fulfillment of all work requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and processes throughout the unit in order to achieve the company's operational excellence.
Job Requirements
Education and Certifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent is required
- A professional qualification in Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent is preferred
Knowledge and Experience
6 + years of experience in business continuity at a large organization or business continuity consulting is required
