Job Description
Job Purpose
Participate in the implementation of business continuity plans and programs and ensure the Department's ability to maintain service delivery during emergencies and disruptive incidents.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Functional Role
- Participate in identifying and maintaining the register of critical services within the Department, and identify and update associated risk lists in accordance with the relevant standard and in coordination with concerned departments.
- Update risk profiles for critical services and contribute to the same activities for affiliated entities.
- Follow up with concerned organizational units regarding the establishment of controls for risks according to the Business Continuity Management standard classifications.
- Attend and support training sessions for departmental coordinators on risk identification, monitoring, and closure mechanisms.
- Collect information required for the development, implementation, and updating of business continuity management plans, including Business Continuity Strategies, the Incident Response Plan, the Business Continuity Plan, and the Media Response Plan.
- Coordinate with organizational units regarding the provision of resources, including personnel, tools, equipment, software applications, and financial resources required for the execution of continuity plans.
- Train departmental coordinators and management personnel on response scenarios and implementation mechanisms for continuity plans.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and updating notification, escalation, event management, and supply chain management procedures during emergencies, crises, or disasters.
- Assist in preparing, updating, and maintaining Business Continuity Management documentation and records.
- Assist in liaising with external parties to establish coordination and follow-up mechanisms for jointly delivered critical services.
- Participate in internal audits of the Business Continuity Management Program.
- Participate in the periodic review and update of the Incident Response Plan.
- Assist in establishing safety procedures for all resources, including personnel, during crises and emergencies in coordination with support services.
- Raise employee awareness regarding incident response procedures across the organization.
- Participate in post-incident damage assessment updates and activities.
- Collect information related to key performance indicators (KPIs) for business continuity standards and prepare draft performance reports related to business continuity activities.
- Attend internal meetings.
- Participate in relevant workshops and conferences.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) exercises across the Department.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field; a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology is preferred.
- Professional certification in Business Continuity Management Systems (ISO 22301) is preferred.
- Training certification in Business Continuity Management based on NCEMA 7000 standards is preferred.
Professional Experience
- 0–2 years of practical experience in business risk analysis, business continuity management, or a related field.
