Job Description – Business Development Manager
Role Summary:
The Business Development Managers not only oversee vital accounts but also cultivate enduring relationships with them, facilitating the pursuit of untapped opportunities. They are instrumental in pitching for new business and ensuring the seamless onboarding of new clients.
Additionally, a key aspect of their role involves formulating and attaining sales targets through direct sales channels. In addition to nurturing existing clients and generating new business, they are tasked with drafting business plans for all current and prospective opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be apt in building strong relationships with strategic customers. He will be able to identify needs and requirements to promote our company's solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction. The goal is to contribute in sustaining and growing our business to achieve long-term success.
Accountabilities:
- Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services.
- Building company credibility, brand value, and trust with clients to ensure customer satisfaction, retention and confidence in the brand.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including event planning, production, and marketing, to develop innovative event concepts and strategies aligned with client objectives.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, objectives, and preferences and align them with our cutting edge event solutions.
- Create and execute strategic account plans to maximize revenue and profitability from key accounts while meeting clients evolving needs.
- Assist clients to use the products and services and keep them updated about new features launched.
- Oversee the seamless onboarding of new clients, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and successful execution of contracted services.
- Conducting intensive market and competition observation and derivation of activities with active feedback to inform sales planning and marketing campaigns.
- Consult customer surveys and other types of research to gauge the overall level of client satisfaction and address areas of concern.
- Support Corporate Sales Team or Business Development teams in servicing accounts.
- Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify opportunities for business development and continuous improvement.
- Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous working experience as Key Account Manager or Business Development/Sales Manager for 5+ years in events/exhibitions/rentals/structures.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in marketing, business administration, engineering, or relevant field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
- Being able to articulate complex ideas and proposals clearly and concisely.
- Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients at all levels.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
- Good understanding of technical, business & contractual correlations in depth and detail.
- Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
