Role Overview
The
Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving Electra's growth by developing new business opportunities, expanding key accounts, and supporting strategic market initiatives within the events, exhibitions, and structures sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, deep industry insight, and a client-focused approach to building long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Client Acquisition
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across corporate, cultural, governmental, and entertainment sectors.
- Develop and present tailored proposals, capability decks, and commercial offers aligned with client needs.
- Maintain a structured sales pipeline in CRM, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and reporting.
- Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets defined by the Head of Business Development.
- Account Management
- Strengthen and expand relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and recurring business.
- Facilitate smooth project handovers to operations teams, ensuring alignment on scope, budget, and client objectives.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Design, Projects, Procurement, and Finance) to support flawless project delivery.
- Market & Strategic Development
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities across UAE and KSA.
- Represent Electra in trade shows, networking events, and industry forums to build brand awareness.
- Support the development of pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and service diversification projects.
- Commercial & Administrative
- Prepare quotations, tenders, and RFP responses in accordance with Electra's commercial standards.
- Support contract negotiation, client credit evaluation, and payment follow-up processes.
- Ensure adherence to Electra's sustainability, health & safety, and ethical procurement policies.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives aimed at improving BD processes and client experience.
- Gather and report client feedback (Voice of Customer) to enhance service delivery and internal KPIs.
- Contribute to onboarding, training, and mentoring of junior team members in the BD department.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development within events, exhibitions, structures, or fit-out sectors.
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the GCC market.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Established network of clients, agencies, and suppliers in the UAE or KSA.
- Solid technical understanding of event production, structures, and logistics.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot, Business Central) and MS Office Suite.
- Fluent in English; Arabic or French is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within the GCC region.
