eMbrace
Making Quality Care Accessible
Business Development Manager
Location: Delhi NCR - based at Vasant Kunj, with regular fieldwork across Gurgaon, Delhi NCR and South Delhi (Rainbow Children Hospital)
Type: Full-time, in-person (field-heavy role)
Reports to: Co-Founder, CBO
Experience: 3–5 years in healthcare services business development
About eMbrace
eMbrace is a fast-growing child and adolescent mental health organisation providing evidence-based, compassionate care to children, adolescents and families. We run premium care centres across Delhi NCR — Vasant Kunj, Gurgaon and an in-hospital unit at Rainbow Children Hospital — supported by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, special educators and behaviour therapists.
Our work spans clinical care, school inclusion programmes, corporate neurodiversity and wellness initiatives, and professional education for clinicians and educators. We are building the referral and partnership engine that will take this model pan-India.
The Role
We are looking for a high-energy, self-driven Business Development Manager to own the top of our growth funnel. This is a hands-on, in-the-field role, not a desk or strategy role. You will spend most of your week in front of people — paediatricians, developmental paediatricians, psychiatrists, hospital teams, school leaders and corporate HR heads — building the relationships that bring families to eMbrace.
You will start as an individual contributor owning the Delhi NCR market. As the referral engine and corporate book grow, there is a clear path to building and leading a team, and to expanding the role into a PAN-India growth mandate.
Marketing support is available for collateral, campaigns and events; you will drive the field effort and the relationships.
What You Will Own
1. Doctor & Hospital Referral Network (primary)
• Map, meet and build lasting relationships with paediatricians, developmental paediatricians, psychiatrists, neurologists and allied clinicians in the catchment of each centre.
• Build referral volume through education-led engagement - CME sessions, case discussions, clinician round-tables, screening camps and awareness drives - not incentive-led selling.
• Keep referring doctors warm: regular visits, timely updates, feedback loops with our clinical team, and prompt resolution of any concern a referrer raises.
• Deepen the Rainbow Children Hospital relationship and identify similar hospital and clinic tie-up opportunities across NCR.
• Own qualified lead generation from this channel. The operations team owns enquiry-to-first-session conversion; you own the quality and volume of what enters the funnel, and you work closely with ops to make sure referrals are handled well.
2. Corporate & EAP Partnerships (primary)
• Generate, pitch and close corporate engagements - parenting and mental health workshops, neurodiversity awareness programmes, employee assistance (EAP) tie-ups and employer-funded child mental health benefits.
• Own the full corporate cycle end to end: prospecting, pitching to CHROs and HR/wellness leads, proposal and pricing, negotiation, closure and renewal.
• Build a repeatable corporate offering with the leadership and clinical teams - packaged workshops, programme formats, pricing and impact reporting.
• Manage delivery coordination for corporate programmes so the first engagement converts into an annual relationship.
3. Events, Community & Referral Programmes
• Plan, organise and represent eMbrace at events that generate leads - parent workshops, school events, hospital and medical conferences, community awareness drives.
• Drive adoption of the parent referral programme across centres, working with reception and clinical teams.
• Bring back market intelligence: what parents, doctors and employers are asking for, what competitors are offering, and where the gaps are.
4. Pipeline Discipline
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline of doctors, hospitals, schools and corporates in the CRM — meetings, stage, next action, outcome.
• Report weekly on activity and outcomes: meetings held, active referrers, referrals received, corporate pipeline movement.
What Success Looks Like
• First 30 days: Map the catchment around each centre and get in front of 10–20 doctors per centre. Know our clinical services well enough to explain them credibly. Establish eMbrace's name and yours with the referring community.
• By 60 days: A steady base of 10–15 actively referring doctors, with referrals flowing in consistently. First corporate conversations qualified and in the pipeline.
• By 90 days: 3 corporate pilots signed for workshops or EAP programmes. Referral volume growing month on month, with a clear, repeatable engagement rhythm with the doctor network.
• Beyond: Month-on-month growth in qualified leads and corporate revenue, and a playbook strong enough to replicate in new cities.
Who We Are Looking For
Must-haves
• 3–5 years of business development, partnerships or institutional sales experience in healthcare services - hospitals, diagnostics, clinics, med-tech, wellness, pharma or allied health.
• A track record of building referral or partnership networks from the ground up, and comfort with the fieldwork that requires.
• Genuine understanding that referral-building in Indian healthcare is education- and relationship-led - CME sessions, case discussions, screening camps - and never incentive-led. We hold this line strictly.
• The ability to hold a commercial conversation with warmth and restraint. Mental health is a sensitive category; pushy selling damages trust with families and clinicians alike, and does not work here.
• High energy, high ownership, comfortable with ambiguity and with being on the road most days.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Hindi; able to hold their own with senior doctors and CHROs.
• Organised and data-comfortable - you keep your own pipeline honest and can talk about your numbers without being asked twice.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA welcome but not essential. What you have built matters more than where you studied.
Good to have
• Existing relationships with paediatricians, child specialists or hospitals in Delhi NCR.
• Exposure to mental health, child development, special education or the disability sector.
• Experience selling into corporate HR, wellness or EAP buyers.
• Experience of a startup or early-stage environment where you built the process as well as ran it.
Why Join eMbrace
• Real impact: Every referral you bring in is a child who gets help earlier. This is commercial work with a clear human outcome.
• Ownership: You own a channel end to end from day one and work directly with the founder — no layers, fast decisions.
• Growth path: Deliver, and this role grows into leading a business development team and a pan-India mandate.
• A category with tailwinds: Child mental health and neurodiversity are moving from the margins to the mainstream in India. You will be early.
• Compensation: Competitive fixed salary with a performance-linked variable component, health insurance and professional development support.
How to Apply
Write to us at [Confidential Information] with the subject line Application for Business Development Manager.
Please attach your CV and a short note (half a page is plenty) covering two things: a referral network or partnership you built from scratch and how you did it, and why child mental health is a space you want to sell in.
