Required Candidate Profile

We are looking for a vibrant, entrepreneurial business development professional with strong experience in Plastic Raw Material and/or industrial chemicals trading. As Business Development Manager, the candidate will drive growth of existing product lines while actively identifying, evaluating, and launching new business opportunities — new products, new principals, and new customer accounts — within our trading platform.

• Core requirement: proven sales/business development experience in the polymer industry across products such as PVC, PET, PS, HDPE, LDPE, and Engineering Plastics (ABS, PC, PMMA, SAN, etc.), ideally gained within a trading or indenting company.

• Also considered: candidates from the broader petrochemicals / industrial chemicals trading space who bring an established, transferable network of customers and suppliers, even without a direct polymer background.

A Strong Plus – New Product Development

This role is especially suited to candidates who can go beyond servicing existing lines and actively lead our growth into adjacent products under our general trading licence. Ideal candidates in this category will:

• Bring an existing book of business — real relationships with customers and/or suppliers in plastics, resins, or related chemical products — that can be introduced and developed within our platform.

• Be able to identify, evaluate, and lead the launch of new complementary product lines (new polymer grades, specialty resins, or related chemicals) that fit a B2B trading and indenting model.

• Have the credibility and network to open conversations with new principals/suppliers as well as new customer accounts, expanding our portfolio rather than only servicing it.

Note: this expansion is strictly within our existing B2B trading and indenting model — evaluating and adding new products/principals, not a shift in business model.

Responsibilities

• Own the business development pipeline — identify, pursue, and close new customer accounts and new principal/supplier relationships.

• Scope, propose, and lead the onboarding of new products or product categories that complement our current portfolio, leveraging personal supplier and customer relationships where available.

• Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets.

• Evaluate, forecast, and generate marketing opportunities in existing and new markets.

• Grow sales of all Plastic Raw Materials — mainly PVC, PET, PS, HDPE, LDPE and Engineering Plastics (ABS, PC, PMMA, SAN, etc.) — across all customers and regions.

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, providing support, information, and guidance to expand the business.

• Regularly visit customers in the UAE and other GCC countries.

• Visit and grow relationships with Principals in Asia, the Far East, Europe, and the USA.

• Work fluently across business functions — marketing, finance, operations, and purchase.

• Bring in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general trading best practices.

• Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and negotiation skills.

Required Work Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant sales/business development experience, ideally within plastic raw materials, petrochemicals, or industrial chemicals trading.

• Track record of opening new accounts, new principals, or new product lines, preferably within a large trading company focused on polymer or chemicals trading and indenting.

• Candidates with an existing, portable network of customer and supplier relationships in adjacent product categories are strongly encouraged to apply, even if their direct product experience differs.

Education Qualifications

• Engineer with MBA (preferably Polymer or Chemical Engineer, or Science Graduate).
