Job Title: Business Development Officer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Role Purpose
The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying business growth opportunities and developing effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets. The role focuses on merchant acquisition, retention, and building long-term partnerships to enhance market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives
- Manage and maintain the assigned merchant portfolio
- Prevent merchant attrition through strong relationship management
- Increase wallet share of existing merchants and maintain exclusivity where possible
- Promote and sell Value-Added Services (VAS) such as DCC, E-commerce solutions, and setup services
- Generate new business through lead generation and client acquisition
- Build and sustain strong relationships with new and existing merchants
- Maintain up-to-date competitor knowledge and market intelligence
- Ensure completion of required documentation in line with SOPs, including KYC renewals
- Identify, mitigate, and manage risks while maximizing account profitability
- Support strategic initiatives and perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant field
- 3–5 years of experience in Merchant Acquiring / Banking Sales
- Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring sales and retention strategies
- Good understanding of UAE banking practices, regulations, risk, and compliance
- Familiarity with VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, and CUP acquiring products
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Valid UAE driving license
