BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST - FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Business Intelligence analyst role is to identify the business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs of American Hospital Dubai and its subsidiaries in the Clinical/Financial/Operation and Business areas and strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions/reports to end users. The role works closely with AHD Hospital Management/clinicians and IT teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business/clinical decisions. BI Analysts must have an understanding of the functioning of a tertiary care hospital business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical clinical/business issues. Should provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. Educate and train end users to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for analysis and option exploration. Expand the company's use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. Strategically design, develop, and implement data models for enterprise-level applications and systems. These models shall be architected at the following layers: conceptual, logical, business area, and application. This individual will act as the primary advocate of data modelling methodologies and data processing best practices. Must have a high level of technical expertise combined with clear insights into business practice and exposure to industry best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy & Planning
. Work with IT and Hospital management to prioritize business and information needs. Assist to develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for BI Development, Data Architecture Visions, Standards, Data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and archiving. Ensure that data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance.
. Work with department managers and IT management to define metrics, guidelines, and strategies for effective use of algorithms and data.
. Establish links across existing data sources and find new, interesting mash-ups.
. Assist in Assessing and determining governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing data/metadata across the organization to improve data quality, completeness, redundancy and accuracy
. Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to algorithms, data models and data analytics.
. Document the data architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture.
- Acquisition & Deployment
- Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and select database/data warehouse components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools and database design solutions.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on big data infrastructure, database technologies, analytics tools, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
- Participate in the selection, data integration and assessment of the new IT systems to ensure that new systems fit into the enterprise data architecture to ensure the success of enterprise-level application rollouts.
- Operational Management
- Responsible for implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems.
- Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications or reports. Responsible for coding reports in SSRS, and Crystal reports and publishing in the legacy BI Systems or on new BI Systems.
- Integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
- Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, Reports and programs.
- Devise, develop, and deploy required data queries/reports in response to business/clinical user needs.
- Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
- Responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
- Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.
- Design and deliver end-user training and training materials provide technical support as necessary.
- Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software performance-tune these applications as necessary. Responsible for end-user support in BI solutions, legacy report publishing platforms and troubleshooting in existing published reports in SSRS and Crystal Reports platforms.
- Collaborate with database and disaster recovery administrators to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
- Assist in project planning, responsible for project documentation, training documentation, change control procedures and escalations in case of any deviations from the assigned projects/tasks.
- Keeps IT Management informed of all events affecting the timely installation and successful operation of the hospital's Information Technology and reports any deviation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities for which the individual is qualified, as requested by IT Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- BE (In IT or computer science-related field), Graduate/Post graduate with IT/Computer Science
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a healthcare environment with exposure to the Reporting/Business Intelligence/Analytics of a hospital is a must. Good working experience in one of the leading business intelligence solutions is a must.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in SQL Server Integrations Services (SSIS) / Reporting Services (SSRS) / Analysis Services (SSAS), Crystal reports is a must.

- Data warehouse - Exposure and working knowledge of Architect / Design and Implementation of data warehouse solutions (Bus Architecture, dimensional modelling) using the latest database and business intelligence tools available
- Architecture / Development of ETL process
- Building Reporting solutions using cutting-edge technologies
- Exposure to one or more scripting languages is a must (Java Script, VB Script, PHP, Python)
- Experience in Microsoft Share Point Portal 2007/2010/ 2013
- Programming - Visual Basic.NET, ASP.NET, .Net Windows Services, .Net Web services, Java is added advantage
