Job Description

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.

Responsibilities

  • Executes all purchase requests promptly as per Fakeeh Care policies and procedures for medication procurement.
  • Ensures that critical and high-demand items are sourced from multiple suppliers with viably alternatives and are accurately categorized within the system.
  • Verifies that all purchase orders are completed on schedule and adhere to approved timelines, ensuring all procured medications are approved by the regional food and drugs authority.
  • Ensures no item is procured without prior approval from the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee.
  • Conducts annual vendor performance evaluations and updates records in the system.
  • Continuously identifies and engages new suppliers offering better quality, availability, profitability, and payment terms.
  • Communicates and negotiates effectively with suppliers to confirm orders, ensuring alignment with requested specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules. Coordinates with warehouses as needed.
  • Monitors vendor performance closely to ensure timely deliveries, prevent stockouts, and avoid overstocking.
  • Keeps the system updated with purchase orders and activities, and generates weekly reports on open
  • orders/POs with expected delivery timelines for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with warehouses and planning teams to manage the return of items that do not meet requirements, including non-moving, near-expiry, and expired stock.
  • Provides exceptional customer service by assisting end users with product specifications, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Proactively addresses any issues impacting end users, such as delivery delays or item unavailability, and
  • recommends solutions.
  • Maintains awareness of supply chain regulations, including regional FDA and other local authority requirements for drug/narcotic procurement, importation, storage, and handling.
  • Ensures all items are accurately identified in the system with proper coding, descriptions, pricing, and units of measure, while addressing discrepancies or duplications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, (Nursing, Pharmacy,
  • etc..)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
