At Electra we need talented people that will share our strategy to be the obvious partner contracting for local & international players who wish to set up an event within the GCC.
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing materials, products, and services required for projects or operations. The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and strong vendor relationships. The Buyer works closely with project teams, production, and stores to support seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
- Source products in line with project specifications, quality, and standards.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality.
- Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) accurately and timely.
- Track delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers.
- Ensure proper documentation for all procurement transactions.
- Maintain records of approved vendors, contracts, and POs.
- Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Resolve disputes, delays, or quality issues with vendors.
- Conduct vendor evaluations and recommend new suppliers.
- Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor procurement costs and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Analyze purchase trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Work with finance and project teams to ensure accurate billing and payments.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with project, production, and stores teams to understand material requirements.
- Provide timely updates on procurement status to management.
- Maintain procurement records and reports for audits and analysis.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Verify quality and specifications of received materials.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in procurement or buying role.
- Experience in construction, fit-out, manufacturing, logistics, or events preferred.
- Proven negotiation, sourcing, and vendor management experience.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) are a plus.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, etc.).
- Strong analytical, reporting, and negotiation skills.
