Job Description

We are working with a leading financial services and technology organisation that is expanding its engineering team. The business is seeking an experienced C++ Developer to help build and enhance a high-performance trading platform used within a sophisticated financial markets environment.

In this role you will work closely with engineers, quantitative specialists, traders and other technology stakeholders to design, develop and improve components of the firm's trading platform.

You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through to testing, optimisation, deployment and ongoing support.

The role may include working on areas such as market data, order management, execution, trading strategies, connectivity, pricing or risk, depending on your background and the needs of the team.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain high-performance applications using modern C++.
Build reliable and scalable components for a trading or financial markets platform.
Work on performance-critical, low-latency or high-throughput systems.
Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, product specialists and other software engineers.
Analyse and resolve complex technical and production issues.
Improve the performance, stability and scalability of existing systems.
Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.

Requirements

Strong commercial experience developing software in C++.
Good understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.
Experience building performance-sensitive, concurrent or distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of software development principles and engineering best practice.
Experience with Linux or other Unix-based operating systems.
Familiarity with multithreading, networking, memory management and performance optimisation.
