Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a major power infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia and are looking for an experienced C1 Certified Field Service Engineer / Testing & Commissioning Electrical Engineer, approved by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), with extensive hands-on experience in HV/EHV transmission substations, protection systems, power transformers, switchgears, MV/HV cables, GIS/AIS substations, and generators.
The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in testing, commissioning, energization, protection relay systems, and electrical infrastructure up to 380kV, ensuring full compliance with SEC, IEC, and IEEE standards
Key Responsibilities :
- Execute testing and commissioning activities for HV/EHV substations up to 380kv
- Perform testing and commissioning of Power Transformers, Switchgears, MV/HV Cables, GIS/AIS Substations, and Generators
- Carry out protection relay testing, relay configuration, troubleshooting, and protection scheme modifications
- Perform transformer testing, cable testing, primary and secondary injection testing
- Support substation energization, shutdown, and synchronization activities.
- Conduct SAT/FAT activities and prepare detailed commissioning reports.
- Investigate electrical faults and provide technical support during commissioning phases
- Ensure full compliance with SEC procedures, IEC standards, IEEE standards, and safety regulations
- Coordinate commissioning activities with clients, consultants, QA/QC, construction, and maintenance teams
- Ensure the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of electrical infrastructurs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in HV/EHV transmission and substation projects
- Proven experience in 132kV, 220kV, and 380kV substations, transmission and grid infrastructure projects, live substations, and utility environments.
- Mandatory experience in SEC utility projects.
- SEC Approval is mandatory.
- C1 Certification is mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience in Testing & Commissioning of: Power Transformers , Switchgears ,MV/HV Power Cables , GIS & AIS Substations , Generators and HV/EHV Protection Relay Systems.
- Proven experience in: Protection Relay Testing & Configuration ,Relay Coordination & Fault Analysis , Transformer Testing ,SAT/FAT Activities ,Energization & Shutdown Procedures ,SCADA/SAS Systems ,Quality Assurance during Commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment including: Omicron ,CPC100 ,Megger ,Primary Injection Kits and Relay Testing Equipment.
- Strong knowledge of SEC, IEC, and IEEE standards and utility regulations.
- Previous experience in Power Plants, Cement Plants, Grid Stations, Transmission & Distribution Projects, or other large-scale power infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on site and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, QA/QC, construction, and maintenance teams
