Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Drafter AutoCAD Electrical to join our engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in preparing electrical drawings specifically for building construction projects (residential, commercial, high-rise, villas, mixed-use developments), with hands-on experience in developing schematics, panel drawings, and layout plans using AutoCAD Electrical. The role requires close coordination with engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical for building projects.
- Develop and modify Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, control panel drawings, electrical schematics, and cable schedules.
- Prepare electrical layout drawings including lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, grounding/earthing, and cable routing plans for residential and commercial buildings.
- Generate panel layout drawings, termination drawings, riser diagrams, and interconnection diagrams.
- Coordinate with Electrical Engineers and other disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, ELV) to ensure proper design integration within building projects.
- Review and update drawings based on client comments, design revisions, and site requirements.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, international standards, and Abu Dhabi authority regulations (ADDC / ADM).
- Maintain drawing registers, revision records, and documentation control as per company procedures.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings, material submittals, load schedules, and technical documentation.
- Provide drawing clarifications and technical support to site teams when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as an Electrical CAD Drafter in building construction projects (residential, commercial, high-rise, villas, mixed-use developments).
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (mandatory).
- Proven experience in MEP contracting companies handling building projects.
- Good understanding of electrical symbols, building codes, standards, and drafting practices.
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority standards (ADDC / ADM) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project deadlines.
