Job purpose

The CAD Draftsman Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D production drawings and creating accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) as per project requirements. This role involves designing cost-effective and impressive solutions tailored to client budgets, ensuring alignment with market trends, and contributing to efficient project execution.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Design and Drafting

• Take detailed briefs from the Sales Manager or Technical Manager to create designs within the client's budget.
• Develop impressive 3D designs in SketchUp for client presentations.
• Prepare precise and detailed 2D production drawings in CAD.

Material Management

• Create accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) based on approved designs.
• Optimize material usage in designs to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Client Interaction and Feedback

• Revise designs based on client feedback and comments to meet project requirements.
• Apply trending finishing materials in the design to align with market preferences.

Project Support and Documentation

• Study and understand specifications and requirements before proceeding with designs and submissions to the Estimation Department, Clients, or for Tender processes.
• Prepare and file As-Built Drawings post-project completion.
• Coordinate schedules and ensure timely submission of designs to meet sales and production team requirements.

| Accuracy of Designs and BOM: Deliver precise and error-free designs and Bills of Materials. (Weightage: 25%)

| Material Optimization: Minimize wastage through efficient design solutions. (Weightage: 15%)

Education requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred).

Proficiency in CAD 2D and SketchUp 3D software is mandatory.

• Minimum of 35 years of relevant experience in container conversion or modular building industries.
