Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of school staff while maintaining high standards of vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance with UAE regulations and school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the assigned school light vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to UAE traffic laws and school policies
- Follow designated routes and schedules for staff pick-up and drop-off, ensuring punctuality at all times
- Ensure passengers comply with safety rules and maintain appropriate behavior during transit
- Assist in maintaining order and discipline within the vehicle
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate records such as route logs, time sheets, and incident/accident reports
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, presentable, and well-maintained at all times
- Report accidents, delays, or incidents promptly to the supervisor
- Support the transport team in operational requirements, including special trips or school events
- Comply with all GEMS policies, procedures, and code of conduct
- Attend meetings and carry out additional duties as assigned by management
Skills
Qualifications:
- Valid UAE Light Vehicle Driving License (Category 3)
- Clean driving record
- Secondary school education (preferred)
- Valid police clearance certificate
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving light vehicles in the UAE
- Previous experience in a school or similar environment is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of UAE roads, routes, and traffic regulations
- Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness
- Punctual, reliable, and disciplined
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Flexibility to work additional hours for school activities or event.
