Role Summary
The CPACS/CVIS System Administrator is responsible for the operation, configuration, optimization, and support of the organization's cardiovascular imaging and information systems. This role ensures system reliability, smooth daily operations, support requests, and seamless integration with other clinical systems such as HIS, inventory system, and hemodynamic systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Administration & Maintenance
- Administer and maintain CPACS/CVIS applications, databases, and servers.
- Perform modality configurations, and windows upgrades and patches.
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and storage capacity.
- Orchestrate and coordinate incoming support requests from end users to specialized support teams.
- Follow up incidents and open tickets with support teams until closure.
2. User Access & Security Management
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts.
- Manage role-based access controls (RBAC).
- Coordinate with IT security teams and raise issues of vulnerabilities to the expert application teams for remediation.
3. Clinical Workflow Optimization
- Support modality configurations when needed.
- Follow up with application expert to customize structured reporting templates when needed.
- Participate in workflow redesign initiatives.
4. Integration & Interoperability
- Support interfaces with:
- HL7 with HIS
- DICOM modalities
- Troubleshoot interface errors and message failures.
- Work with vendors and interface teams to resolve integration issues.
5. Data Management & Integrity
- Ensure accurate data capture and structured reporting as per the designed workflow.
- Resolve reconciliation issues when needed (e.g. post system down)
6. Troubleshooting & Support
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for CPACS/CVIS users.
- Coordinate vendors support tickets and escalation processes.
- Document incident resolution and root cause analysis.
7. Vendor & Project Coordination
- Act as primary liaison between cardiology department and system vendors.
- Participate in system implementation and upgrade projects.
- Support testing during upgrades, patches, and interface changes (UAT).
8. Reporting & Analytics
- Support data extraction for research and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with leadership to analyze cardiology service line performance.
10. Training & Education
- Provide basic training for new physicians, technologists, and staff.
- Coordinate refresher training after upgrades or workflow changes.
- Serve as (onsite) subject matter expert for CPACS/CVIS functionality.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular clinical workflows.
- Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and healthcare IT integrations.
- Experience with database management (SQL preferred).
- Familiarity with Windows Server and/or virtual environments.
- Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
