Job Title

Center of Excellence Director in Higher Education university in Riyadh

Department

Center of Excellence Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs Vice President of the University

Duties

Strategic and Operational Planning:

o Prepare the center's strategic and operational plans in alignment with the university's vision and mission.

o Coordinate with various units to ensure integration of plans and achievement of institutional goals.

Academic Program Development:

o Monitor the development and updating of academic programs in accordance with local and international accreditation requirements.

o Ensure programs align with labor market needs and academic standards.

Quality Management and Assurance:

o Implement quality systems across all university units.

o Develop performance measurement tools and quality indicators and monitor their implementation.

o Apply relevant ISO standards, and update policies and procedures in line with their requirements.

o Conduct internal audits and follow up on continuous improvement plans according to ISO requirements.

Digital Transformation and E-Learning:

o Support and develop e-learning and blended learning initiatives.

o Implement digital education policies and technologies.

o Automate consultations in the fields of development and quality.

Institutional and Professional Development:

o Lead professional development programs for faculty and staff.

o Propose and implement initiatives to improve institutional performance.

o Support academic decision-making through evidence-based analysis.

Reporting and Analysis:

o Prepare periodic reports on the performance of the department and its subordinate units.

o Analyze data to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

Internal and External Coordination:

o Coordinate with internal and external bodies concerned with quality and development.

o Represent the department in official committees and meetings.

University International Rankings:

o Collect and analyze data required for rankings in coordination with relevant university entities.

o Propose improvement initiatives to enhance the university's position in global rankings.

o Prepare periodic reports on the university's performance in rankings and related performance indicators.

o Promote a culture of rankings within the university and educate academic units on its importance and requirements.

o Enhance the university's academic standing in global rankings.

Academic Benchmarking:

o Conduct comparative studies between the university's programs and those of prestigious local and international universities.

o Analyze gaps between current academic program outcomes and international standards.

o Propose improvements to academic plans and programs based on benchmarking results.

o Document benchmarking results and present them to decision-makers to support evidence-based development.

o Build reference databases for academic programs and distinguished educational practices.

Governance of Academic Procedures:

o Develop academic governance mechanisms and ensure compliance.

o Monitor the implementation of academic policies and evaluate their effectiveness.

Education

Faculty member holding a Ph.D. in Educational Planning, Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or an equivalent field.

Skills

Ability to plan academic programs.

Effective communication skills.

Academic leadership skills.

Leadership:

Ability to guide and influence a team towards achieving common goals, providing vision and inspiration.

Project Management:

Ability to plan, execute, and oversee various projects within the center, ensuring timely completion and required quality.

Communication:

Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (inside and outside the center), both verbally and in writing, ensuring their understanding of the center's mission and objectives.

Analysis:

Ability to analyze data and information to make informed decisions, effectively evaluate center performance, and identify areas for improvement.

Team Building:

Ability to build a strong, collaborative team, identify individual strengths, and utilize them to achieve the center's goals.

Domain Knowledge:

Deep understanding of the center's field of work, whether in information technology, human resources, project management, or others, to ensure achievement of strategic objectives.

Change Management:

Ability to manage change effectively and adapt to new challenges and requirements.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to think long-term, define strategic objectives for the center, and develop plans to achieve them.

Problem Solving:

Ability to identify and analyze problems and propose innovative and effective solutions.

Ability to organize time, prioritize tasks, and manage responsibilities effectively.

Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges.

Ability to manage the center's budget and ensure optimal utilization of available resources.

Minimum Years of Experience

-Experience in quality and academic accreditation, academic program planning, and professional development or Institutional research of no less than five years.

Other Requirements

Basic English language skills.

Preference for candidates who are reviewers for local and international academic programs and institutional accreditation.

Preference for candidates holding professional certifications in project management (PMP).
