Key Responsibilities:
1. Certification Strategy & Planning
- Develop and own the Hili certification roadmap (experimental operational trials full certification).
- Define certification basis, means of compliance, and compliance verification activities.
- Lead engagement with GCAA and other global regulators as needed.
2. Regulatory Coordination
- Prepare and submit certification plans, compliance checklists, and regulatory dossiers.
- Coordinate technical discussions, audits, and conformity inspections with authorities.
- Ensure organizational processes align with Part 21 and relevant airworthiness frameworks.
3. Technical Compliance Oversight
- Work closely with Engineering to verify design data, safety analyses, testing, and documentation.
- Oversee system-level and aircraft-level certification deliverables (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FMEA, FTA, etc.).
- Ensure conformity of hardware, software, manufacturing, and flight test configurations.
4. Program Execution
- Lead certification-related milestones, risks, and corrective actions.
- Support flight test planning, Operational Risk Assessments, SORA, and experimental approvals.
- Maintain full traceability of compliance evidence across all subsystems.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Flight Test, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure all certification gates are met.
- Train internal teams on regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Represent LODD in technical working groups, forums, and certification reviews.
6. Documentation & Quality
- Own the configuration and release of certification documents.
- Ensure controlled documentation, versioning, and adherence to quality standards.
- Manage external conformity inspectors and designated airworthiness representatives as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years in aircraft certification (manned or unmanned); experience with EASA, FAA, or GCAA frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Part 21, DO-178/DO-254, system safety, and airworthiness processes.
- Proven track record leading certification programs to approval milestones.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with electric/hybrid propulsion, UAVs, VTOL, or novel aircraft.
- Background in system safety, flight controls, avionics, or propulsion certification.
- Worked with regulators in UAE or GCC.
- Hands-on involvement in conformity, ground tests, or flight test campaigns.
