Certified Lifting Supervisor
Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on-site, ensuring that activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved lifting plans, project specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lifting Operations
- Supervise all lifting and hoisting activities at project sites.
- Ensure lifting operations are executed according to approved lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Verify load weights, crane capacities, lifting accessories, and ground conditions before commencement of lifting activities.
- Coordinate with project teams, crane operators, riggers, and HSE personnel to ensure safe lifting operations.
- Monitor critical and complex lifts and provide direct supervision throughout the operation.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks with lifting personnel.
- Stop unsafe lifting activities and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure all lifting equipment, cranes, and accessories are inspected, certified, and fit for use.
- Participate in incident investigations and recommend preventive measures.
Inspection & Documentation
- Review lifting permits, lifting plans, and method statements.
- Maintain records of lifting equipment inspections and certifications.
- Verify validity of crane operator licenses and equipment certificates.
- Prepare daily and weekly lifting activity reports.
Team Management
- Supervise and direct riggers, signalmen, and crane operators.
- Ensure personnel involved in lifting operations are competent and properly trained.
- Promote a strong safety culture among lifting teams.
Risk Assessment
- Identify lifting hazards and participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ensure control measures are implemented and maintained throughout lifting activities.
- Assess environmental conditions that may impact lifting operations.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, MEP, or a related discipline.
- Valid LEEA Certification (Lifting Supervisor, Rigger, or equivalent).
- Additional lifting or safety certifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting operations within construction, MEP, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Lifting Supervisor role.
- Experience supervising mobile cranes, tower cranes, and heavy lifting operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices, and load calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and engineering drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of lifting safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
Preferred Certifications
- LEEA Certification.
- Appointed Person for Lifting Operations.
- IOSH or NEBOSH Certification.
- First Aid Certification.
- UAE Driving License (Preferred).

Salary Range: AED 5,000 – 8,000 (Based on experience and qualifications)
