Job Description

Role Summary

The Chartered Accountant manages the full spectrum of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning for the organization. The role ensures adherence to IFRS, UAE regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards while supporting senior leadership with accurate financial insights and performance analysis. Experience in engineering, construction, or oil & gas environments is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records with proper documentation and audit trails.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decisionmaking.
  • Ensure timely period closing and maintain strong reporting processes.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle and longterm financial planning.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare variance analyses and recommend corrective actions to improve financial performance.
  • Support operational teams with cost planning and budget adherence.

Audit & Compliance

  • Manage internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors for timely completion.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, corporate tax requirements, VAT laws, and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Accounts & Financial Operations

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, intercompany balances, and financial transactions.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs.
  • Enhance financial processes and strengthen accounting workflows.

Strategic Financial Support

  • Provide financial modeling, investment analysis, and feasibility studies for major projects.
  • Support management in evaluating project profitability, cost control strategies, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Contribute to financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Establish financial policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with procurement, project management, operations, and senior leadership to ensure financial alignment.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA ICAI) qualification is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of postqualification (CA ICAI) experience in finance and accounting.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and compliance.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, EPC, construction, or engineering sectors is an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing audits, financial operations, and internal controls.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UAE regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Work Environment

The role is based in Abu Dhabi (or Dubai has to be flexible) and requires close collaboration with finance, operations, procurement, and project teams. The environment is fastpaced and demands accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.
