AVS Shipbrokers LLC is an independent shipbroking and commercial shipping company based in Dubai.
We are actively expanding our Dry Bulk division and are looking for an experienced Chartering Manager capable of generating new business, developing long-term client relationships, negotiating profitable fixtures, and contributing directly to the commercial growth of the company.
This is a front-office commercial role with clear responsibility for revenue generation and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with charterers, traders, cargo owners, shipowners, operators, freight forwarders and brokers.
- Originate cargo and vessel opportunities within Dry Bulk markets.
- Negotiate voyage charters, time charters and Contracts of Affreightment (COAs).
- Manage the fixture process from initial inquiry through recap and handover.
- Prepare freight ideas, voyage calculations and commercial proposals.
- Monitor market developments and identify profitable trading opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and commercial pipeline visibility.
- Coordinate closely with Post-Fixing and Operations teams to ensure efficient voyage execution.
- Support business development initiatives and expansion into new markets.
- Achieve agreed commercial and financial targets.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Dry Bulk Chartering, Shipbroking or Commercial Shipping.
- Demonstrated track record of business development and fixture generation.
- Established network among charterers, traders, cargo owners, shipowners or operators.
- Strong understanding of:
- Voyage Charters
- Time Charters
- COAs
- Charter Parties
- Laytime & Demurrage
- Vessel Operations
- Freight Market Dynamics
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong negotiation, communication and commercial skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver measurable business results.
Preferred Experience
Experience handling one or more of the following cargo sectors:
- Grains
- Coal
- Fertilizers
- Steel Products
- Ores and Minerals
- Forest Products
- Cement and Clinker
- Project Cargoes
Experience in Middle East, India, Far East, Africa or Mediterranean trades is considered a strong advantage.
Existing customer relationships generating regular business opportunities are highly desirable.
