TMI is seeking a passionate and industry-experienced
Vocational Trainer – Culinary Arts & Food & Beverage to deliver high-quality practical and theoretical training across Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage, and Tourism diploma programs.
The successful candidate will prepare students for careers in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and luxury hospitality destinations, including programs delivered in partnership with Red Sea Global and the Culinary Arts Commission. The role combines hands-on culinary instruction, classroom teaching, student mentoring, and industry engagement to ensure graduates are workforce-ready and meet TVTC and employer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Practical Training & Culinary Instruction
- Deliver hands-on training in the mock kitchen, covering culinary fundamentals, food preparation, kitchen operations, mise en place, menu execution, food presentation, hygiene, safety, and professional kitchen practices.
- Train students in restaurant, hotel, and resort food service operations, including guest interaction, hospitality etiquette, service sequence, beverage knowledge, and basic bar operations.
- Teach students industry best practices in food safety, sanitation, occupational health, and kitchen management.
- Maintain the mock kitchen, equipment, tools, ingredients, inventory, and training facilities while ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Classroom Teaching
- Deliver theoretical instruction in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage, Hospitality, and Tourism, ensuring all academic learning outcomes are achieved.
- Teach tourism and hospitality fundamentals, including guest experience, destination awareness, service excellence, and hospitality operations.
- Integrate sustainability concepts into training, including responsible sourcing, food waste reduction, recycling, and environmentally responsible kitchen and hospitality practices.
Student Development & Assessment
- Develop lesson plans, practical activities, assessments, competency-based evaluations, and learning materials aligned with TVTC standards and industry requirements.
- Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, written examinations, observation, and structured feedback.
- Mentor students to develop technical competence, workplace professionalism, communication skills, and employment readiness.
- Prepare students for internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities with Red Sea Global and other hospitality employers.
Program Development & Quality
- Contribute to curriculum enhancement, program development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in employer engagement activities, industry partnerships, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, TVTC regulations, food safety requirements, and partner expectations.
- Support student mentoring, career readiness initiatives, and program accreditation activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related discipline.
- Higher qualifications are preferred.
Experience
- Strong professional experience in culinary operations, hotel kitchens, restaurants, resorts, food & beverage operations, or hospitality training.
- Experience within tourism, hospitality, or destination-based service environments.
- Previous experience training students, hospitality employees, apprentices, or junior kitchen staff is preferred.
- Teaching or vocational training experience in competency-based or diploma-level programs is preferred.
- Experience within luxury hotels, resorts, fine dining restaurants, or international hospitality brands is highly desirable.
Requirements
- Eligible for approval as a trainer by Red Sea Global.
- Eligible for approval as a trainer by TVTC.
- Strong knowledge of culinary operations, food safety, kitchen hygiene, occupational health and safety, hospitality service standards, and professional conduct.
- Ability to deliver both practical and classroom-based instruction.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Preferred Profile
- Experience working with or training for luxury hospitality destinations, hotels, resorts, culinary academies, or tourism institutions.
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabia's hospitality, tourism, and culinary sector development.
- Familiarity with sustainable hospitality and responsible tourism practices.
- Experience supporting employer-based training, apprenticeships, internships, or graduate employment readiness.
