The Chef de Partie is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring food preparation meets the highest standards in quality, taste, and presentation. This role involves working closely with other chefs, supervising commis chefs, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your designated section according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain high levels of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and skill development.
- Monitor stock levels, assist in ordering supplies, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment in your section is maintained and used safely.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef.
- Good knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and plating techniques.
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent training is an advantage.
